At the CAP IT! Learning Center we believe that everyone can read. If we can make you “See” the sound, we can teach you to “Read” it. Our unique methods enables all students to visualize the Hebrew sounds and store them in their memory. Using our unique CAP IT! programs, our instructors provide one-to-one instruction to students of all ages and learning abilities, strengthening the underlying skills necessary for independent, confident and proficient reading.

CAP IT! Programs

The CAP IT! Hebrew Reading Program teaches Hebrew reading through the use of our “Tactile Visual Mnemonics,” Symbol Imagery, and our Smart Rules — a comprehensive explanation of the structure of the Hebrew language. Symbol Imagery is the ability to image sounds and letters within words — a necessary sensory-cognitive function that is needed for accurate reading and self-correction. Our “Tactile Visual Mnemonics” help develop Symbol Imagery, and together with our Smart Rules, our program gives the student all the tools they need for accurate decoding of the Hebrew language.

The CAP IT! Fluency Program for Decoding and Accuracy strengthens Symbol Imagery — the ability to image sounds and letters within words. Symbol Imagery is a necessary sensory-cognitive function for accurate reading, self-correction, and fluency.

WHY DO WE CALL OUR PROGRAM CAP IT?

Most learning methods are linear, catering to only one kind of learner, whereas CAP IT! caters to all kinds of learners (visual, auditory, kinesthetic etc.), engaging their Mind, Heart, and gut Instinct — thus involving all three centers of the human personality. That’s why we call our program CAP IT!, it stands for “Concept And Personality Integration Technique.” We take a Concept, and integrate it with one’s entire Personality: Their Mind, Heart and Instinct.

Diagnostic Evaluation

Detailed evaluations are given to every student before, and at the conclusion of intervention period. They consist of four tests:

CAP IT! Sound Recall Test
CAP IT! Symbol Recall Test
CAP IT! Smart Rule Test
CAP IT! Daisy Cutter Test

Our recommendations are based on a number of factors, primarily the age of the student, and his/her history and cognitive ability.

Due to individual abilities, as well as cognitive responses to sensory input during intervention period, intervention period may vary.

Follow these 3 easy steps!

1. Enrolling
To schedule instruction, call or e-mail our office, and ask for our Enrollment Agreement. This agreement must be filled out and signed before the instructions can begin.

2. Paying
CAP IT! Learning Center requires payment before instruction beings. Payment must be made in full prior to start of instructions (unless special arrangements were made, such as with the JLA Scholarship fund, or ongoing classes that last over a few weeks). We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, check or cash.

3. Scheduling
Students are scheduled in the morning, afternoon, or evening depending on our schedule availability. If you prefer a certain time slot, please place your request as soon as possible.
