Johns Hopkins Study Reveals Breakthrough in PK/TK Literacy Development
Several years ago, the Johns Hopkins University Center for Research and Reform in Education (JHU CRRE) initiated a collaboration with Capit Learning to evaluate the CAPIT Reading platform and its unique Sound-to-Print Methodology—a streamlined approach to reading instruction that eliminates outdated and ineffective practices still common in early education.
In February 2025, JHU published its findings on the impact of CAPIT’s methodology on young learners. The study—conducted with 1,488 pre-kindergarten students across more than 80 schools in one of Florida’s largest districts—confirmed remarkable gains in early literacy development, reshaping our understanding of what’s possible at this young age.
